UNIT: POST SURGICAL CARE 1 TELE
 

Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months Med/Tele RN experience.  Will accept first time traveler

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:  BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Technology/Equipment:
EMR: EPIC
IV Pump: BD Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Masimo, remote tele

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:  Small bowel obstructions, general surgery (colectomy, colon/small bowel resections, nephrectomy, hysterectomy, mastectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, splenectomy, thyroidectomy), kidney stones, pneumothorax, bariatric surgery, rib fractures, hip fractures, joint replacements, cellulitis

Skills required:  Trach chare, chest tube management, PIV starts, NG tubes, ostomy care, drains, wound care, continuous bladder irrigation, tube feeds, cardiac rhythm interpretation

Floating:  Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: every other
No call
Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
