Description
Respiratory Therapist – Travel Contract
Location: Libertyville, Illinois
Quick Glance
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (36 hours/week)
- Shift Time: 6:00 PM start
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Call: None

Role Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a high-acuity setting serving patients across the full lifespan—from neonates to geriatrics. This role requires strong critical care experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory care across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment
- Perform ABG draws and interpret results
- Conduct spontaneous breathing trials and assist with ventilator weaning
- Support airway management including trachs and critical care interventions
- Assist with proning, ECMO support, and nitrous oxide procedures
- Implement and monitor prevention/treatment of ventilator-associated pneumonia
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document care in EPIC
Must-Have Credentials
- Active Illinois Respiratory License
- RRT (CRT accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of experience across all patient populations
- Required: Strong neonatal and pediatric experience
- EPIC charting experience

- Critical care and ventilator management

- Nitrous oxide procedures
- ABG draws and interpretation
- Spontaneous breathing trials
- Ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention/treatment
