Unit Information

• CCU: 22 beds | Ratio 1:2–1:3
• CVICU: 14 beds | Ratio 1:2–1:3
• Critical Care Step-Down: 31 beds | Ratio 1:4–1:5
• Med-Surg: Ratio 1:6
• EMR: Meditech
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
• Home Unit: CCU
• Float: May float to CVICU, Critical Care Step-Down, and Med-Surg when critical-care staffing allows

Requirements

• 5 years of experience
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NIHSS required
• Strong critical-care/ICU experience
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Required Skills

• IV starts and blood draws
• NG tube placement
• ECG/rhythm interpretation
• Lab and ABG interpretation
• Critical-care drips and titration
• Ventilator management
• Arterial lines
• Chest tubes
• Central venous lines, including large-volume Vas Caths
• Assist with bedside procedures and conscious sedation
• Effective patient/family communication

Preferred Experience

Experience with:

• CRRT
• IABP
• Arterial sheath pulls
• SICU
• MICU
• CVICU
• Neuro ICU
• PCU/Med-Surg
• Teaching hospitals with resident physicians

Dress Code

Royal Blue scrubs required

• Royal blue scrub pants must always be worn.
• Neutral, solid-colored T-shirts, sweatshirts, or vests are allowed.
• NAMC-logo apparel is also allowed.
