Travel RN assignment in an Inpatient Acute Care Rehabilitation department, 91-week contract, 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week, every 3rd weekend, and holidays as needed. The unit provides specialized inpatient rehabilitation care for adult and geriatric patients recovering from CVA/stroke, TBI/brain injury, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological conditions, generalized debility, aneurysm, and post-operative surgical conditions. Typical patient ratio is 1:6, with one unit occasionally assigning 7 patients to a nurse on a rotating basis when the patient acuity is equivalent to a 6-patient assignment. The unit has approximately 49 beds and a daily census of about 39 patients. The facility uses Epic EMR. Travelers are required to float to other Cone Health campuses as needed. Clinical responsibilities may include interpretation of laboratory results and dysrhythmias, medication reconciliation, patient health questionnaires, vital signs, dressing changes, aseptic and sterile procedures, specimen collection and labeling, phlebotomy, telephone triage, pharmacy calls, and patient refill requests. Support services include IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support. Orientation is 24 hours. Modules are non-billable, generally 2–4 hours, and are completed during orientation; module hours vary by unit. The position uses a virtual/clinical hiring process and requires compliance with facility requirements before starting.
