Position: Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer
Shift: Days – 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
Schedule: 5×8-hour shifts
Weekend: 2 weekend days per month
Holidays: No holidays per the job-specific description
Local Rule: No travelers residing within 50 miles

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Echo Technologist/Cardiac Sonographer to perform inpatient and outpatient cardiac ultrasound studies. The candidate should be comfortable working with adult patients in a variety of clinical settings, including ICU and Emergency Department environments.

Preferred: Ability to perform Dobutamine Stress Echo (DSE) and Exercise Stress Echo (ESE).

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of experience
• Prior travel experience required
• Active MO or Compact license in hand
• One of the following credentials:
  • ARDMS – RDCS (AE)
  • CCI – RDCS
  • RVT, as applicable
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient echocardiography
• Ability to perform portable studies
• Ability to work with ICU/ED patients

Department Details

• Approximately 8 echocardiograms per 8-hour shift
• Adult patient population
• Complete and limited echocardiograms
• Dobutamine Stress Echo
• Exercise Stress Echo
• Structural Heart Program including:
  • TAVR
  • TMVR
  • TTVR
  • TriClip
  • TEER

Schedule & Assignment Requirements

• 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
• 5×8-hour shifts
• 1 weekend day per month listed in unit details; job description states 2 weekend days/month
• Call may be required
• No holidays per the job-specific description; however, system compliance notes state travelers must work 50% of holidays during the contract — this should be confirmed with the Account Manager.
• Orientation: 10 hours
• Floating may be required according to facility policy.

Important Compliance

• No travelers living within 50 miles are eligible.
• Travelers 51–74 miles away may receive the local rate.
• Maximum RTO: 10 days
• No RTO during the first week due to orientation.
• Compliance deadline: 2 PM PST on the Wednesday before start
• Modules average 4–6 hours and are non-billable.
• Modules are completed during orientation and annually.
• Travelers can work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts / 9 months, followed by a mandatory 6-month break before returning to MU Health Care as an agency traveler.
