Travel RN assignment in an 18-bed Labor & Delivery unit, 91-week contract, 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week, every other weekend, and holidays as needed. The unit cares for high-acuity laboring patients and also cares for neonates and adults. Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends. First-time travelers are accepted. Travelers are required to float to MAU, MBU, and OBSC as needed. The unit uses Epic EMR and has Triton and SurgiCount equipment. Clinical responsibilities include Labor & Delivery, high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, C-section recovery and circulating, fetal monitoring, high-risk pregnancy management, Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, amnioinfusion, epidural anesthesia, hemorrhage and shock management, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, premature rupture of membranes, multiple gestations, VBAC management, neonatal resuscitation, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. The unit has support from IV Teams, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretaries. Orientation is 24 hours. Modules are non-billable, generally 2–4 hours, and are completed during orientation. Candidates must complete the facility's required compliance process before starting.
