Travel RN assignment on a 35-bed General Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Progressive Care), 112-week contract, 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekend and holiday rotation. No call required. First-time travelers are accepted. Minimum 2 years of RN experience required. The unit provides care primarily for adult stroke patients, with additional patients with renal disorders, sepsis, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and hematological disorders. Some patients require long-term higher-acuity care and may remain on the unit after being downgraded from PCU to Med/Surg. The unit is telemetry monitored, with centralized cardiac monitoring through the CCMD. Typical patient ratio is 1:5. Nurses must have PCU experience and cardiac telemetry experience, including management and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Clinical skills include peripheral and PICC line management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management and titration, insulin drip titration, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tubes, blood products, heparin protocols, CVA care, tracheostomy care, wound care, and IV management. The facility uses Epic. Travelers may float between all Cone Health campuses as needed. Orientation is 36 hours. Support services include IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary support.
