• On-Call Requirement: No call.

  Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

🚫 Absolute Minimum Qualifications & Departmental Hardstops:

• Licensure Mandate: Active, unencumbered Massachusetts State RN License held in hand at submission.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum 2+ years of recent clinical RN experience (within the last 12 months) providing in-person triage and direct ambulatory care for acute/chronic medical conditions.
• Exclusionary Hardstop: Experience solely in an ambulatory procedural unit or emergency room setting is NOT sufficient and will be rejected.
• Telephone Triage Mandate: Documented hands-on experience with structured telephone triage and telephone-based clinical assessment techniques.
• Mandatory Certifications: Active AHA BLS.
• Endocrinology & Specialty Skills (Strongly Preferred):
  • Experience in ambulatory endocrinology, diabetes management, or medical/surgical specialty practices.
  • Experience with continuous glucose monitor (CGM) placement, patient education, insulin therapy management, and self-management education.
  • Experience administering injectable medications and leading patient medication-teaching visits.
  • Direct ambulatory care experience supporting General and/or GI surgical patients.

Job Summary & Clinical Scope

A Hospital in Boston, MA is seeking 2 experienced Ambulatory Medical Specialties Registered Nurses (RN Outpatient Services) for 13-week contracts in DOM MSAE BMS 45F BWH (Department BW9017 / SO00007099). Operating within the Department of Medicine's ambulatory outpatient clinics at a flagship Mass General Brigham hospital, the RN will direct outpatient care management, complex symptom triage, and specialized endocrine/diabetic education.

• Ambulatory & Telephone Clinical Triage: Perform comprehensive in-person and telephone-based clinical risk assessments, symptom management, and triage for patients presenting with complex acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Endocrinology & Diabetes Care Management: Conduct dedicated nursing visits for diabetes and endocrine populations; deliver Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) placement, sensor calibration, insulin titration education, and self-management training.
• Medication Administration & Patient Education: Execute complex injectable medication administration, teach self-injection techniques to patients/caregivers, and conduct nurse-led educational visits.
• General & GI Surgical Outpatient Support: Support pre- and post-operative outpatient clinical workflows for General Surgery and Gastroenterology (GI) surgical specialty patients.
