Job Summary: 

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. The RN will manage high-risk pregnancies, monitor fetal health, assist with deliveries and C-sections, and provide safe, quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery.
• Provide care to patients in labor, antepartum, and postpartum settings.
• Perform fetal monitoring and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Assist physicians with vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
• Circulate during C-sections and provide post-operative recovery care.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, Pitocin, and Magnesium Sulfate as ordered.
• Manage high-risk pregnancies, including preeclampsia and preterm labor.
• Provide newborn assessments, neonatal resuscitation, and APGAR scoring.
• Assist with OB triage, cervical examinations, and non-stress tests.
• Support breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and patient education.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic.
• Float to similar units as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience.
• Active Alaska RN license required for Auto Offer.
• BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, and NRP certifications required.
• Experience with high-risk labor and delivery patients.
• Experience with fetal monitoring, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Charge experience preferred or willingness to train as charge nurse.
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility.
• First-time travelers accepted.
