Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN for a 13-week assignment at a busy emergency department with 72 beds and approximately 270–300 patient visits per day. The RN will provide emergency care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care, including patient assessment and triage.
• Care for patients with medical emergencies and traumatic injuries.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias.
• Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy, and provide central line care.
• Administer medications, including IV vasopressors.
• Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator support.
• Follow isolation precautions and appropriate PPE practices.
• Collaborate with phlebotomy, social services, and unit support staff.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience; this is a firm requirement.
• Trauma Level II or III experience required.
• Triage experience required. Candidates without triage experience will be screened.
• Community hospital experience required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and MAB.
• Must have experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, and emergency response.
• Travel experience is preferred; first-time travelers may be considered with strong experience.
• Any charting system experience accepted.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
