Position Overview

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center is seeking an experienced Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) / qualified behavioral health clinician to work in the Adult & Pediatric Emergency Department.

The role focuses on mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, risk assessments, care coordination, and level-of-care recommendations for patients experiencing mental health illness and/or substance use disorders.

🚨 Key Requirements

• 3+ years of experience preferred/required
• Experience conducting crisis risk assessments for both adults and pediatrics
• Experience with mental health assessments
• Experience with suicide/self-harm and danger-to-others assessments
• Epic experience required
• Hospital experience preferred
• WA license pending at submission is acceptable
• Independent or associate license may be accepted
• Previous travel experience not required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must be available for every-other-weekend coverage

Accepted Licenses

Candidates may qualify with an appropriate license as:

• LICSW / Independent Clinical Social Worker
• LCSW
• LMFT
• LMHC / Mental Health Counselor

Independent or associate license will suffice.

Schedule

Primary Schedule: 4×10-hour shifts
Shift Options:

• Days: approximately 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Evening: approximately 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Weekend: Every other weekend — Saturday & Sunday
On-Call: No
Block Schedule: No
Expected Daily Census: Approximately 7 patients

Schedule and shift assignment may vary based on department needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments
• Perform crisis risk assessments for adults and pediatric patients
• Evaluate risk for:
  • Danger to self
  • Danger to others
  • Gravely disabled status
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments
• Complete intake and admission screenings
• Provide crisis intervention
• Develop clinical assessment reports
• Make recommendations regarding appropriate level of care
• Coordinate care with internal and external providers
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning
• Provide patient and family education, support, and advocacy
• Facilitate discharge and contingency planning
• Coordinate community resources and referrals
• Document all relevant clinical information in Epic

Floating Requirement

Float Required: Yes

If the department is overstaffed, the clinician may be asked to float to Holy Family Hospital and perform the same duties.
