Cardiac Cath Lab / CCL – Job Breakdown

📍 Schedule

• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Schedule: 4×10s = 40 hours/week
• Days: Monday–Friday
• Day off: Random weekday off
• Orientation: 10/5
• Contract: 13

📞 Call Requirement

• 1–2 nights per week
• Every 3rd weekend
• Weekend call: Friday 7:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
• Assigned cases on rare occasions.

🏥 Experience Requirements

Required:

• Minimum 24 months of current Cardiac Cath Lab/CCL experience
• 24 months of current Cath experience
• Circulating/monitoring experience
• Trauma Level II experience
• Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license at submission
• BLS – AHA or American Red Cross
• ACLS – AHA or American Red Cross

Preferred:

• Structural heart experience — highly preferred
• EP experience — highly preferred
• Travel experience — highly preferred
• Scrubbing experience — preferred
• Trauma Level I experience — preferred
• Precepting experience

🩺 Core Cath Lab Skills

Candidate should have documented experience with:

• Cardiac Cath/CCL
• Circulating
• Monitoring
• Cath procedures
• Structural heart, if applicable
• EP, if applicable
• Scrubbing, if applicable
• Trauma cases

📋 Submission Requirements

The profile must include:

• Updated resume/work history showing 24 months of current Cardiac Cath/CCL experience
• Cath Lab-specific skills checklist
• Active Iowa or Compact/Multistate license — required at submission
• Driver's license
• BLS
• ACLS
• Professional reference/reference check from within the last 24 months — preferred
• Documentation required by the facility

🏢 Floating

• Must be willing to float across all Des Moines campuses to like units.
• Campuses are described as being minutes from one another.

📍 Local Radius

• No locals
• Candidate must live at least 50 miles from the facility, based on the driver's license address.

🚫 Previous UPH Employees

If the candidate was previously an UPH FTE or PRN float-pool employee, they cannot work travel in another UPH market regardless of which facility they currently work at or worked at within the past 12 months.

Exception: If they previously worked travel at UPH, this separation policy does not apply.

🎉 Holiday Requirement

Unless the unit is closed, the contractor must work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming holidays:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
