Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Oncology RN for a 13-week assignment on an Oncology, GYN-Oncology, Palliative Care, and Medical Telemetry unit. The nurse will care for adult patients with oncology and medical-surgical needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to adult oncology and medical-surgical patients.
- Administer IV medications, infusions, and blood products.
- Access and manage ports, central lines, and PICC lines.
- Monitor patients for oncologic emergencies, including sepsis, hemorrhage, tumor lysis syndrome, and extravasation.
- Provide symptom and pain management, including PCA pump management.
- Maintain neutropenic precautions and follow isolation/PPE protocols.
- Recognize and report abnormal lab values and changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and float to similar units or sister facilities as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute-care nursing experience.
- Medical-Surgical and/or Oncology experience required.
- Epic charting experience required.
- Active Colorado RN license or compact RN license required.
- Required certification: BLS.
- Oncology certification (ONS/ONCC or OCN) preferred, but not required.
- Must be comfortable with flexible patient ratios and floating based on facility needs.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
