Job Summary
Yale New Haven Health is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide critical care across multiple ICU specialties and float between two nearby campuses, including step-down units as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric critical care patients.
- Monitor and manage patients requiring ventilator support, continuous IV sedation, and cardiac monitoring.
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, and pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) catheters.
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and respond to emergencies.
- Provide neurological and respiratory/thoracic nursing care.
- Float among five ICU specialties and step-down units based on facility needs.
- May float to a pulmonary step-down unit with a patient ratio of 1:3.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- TNCC preferred.
- Travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome.
- Must be comfortable floating between ICU specialties and step-down units.
- A pending license may be accepted, but an active license is required before the start date.
