Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN to provide emergency care to adult and pediatric patients in a busy emergency department. The nurse must be comfortable with trauma, critical care interventions, emergency procedures, and floating between facilities or inpatient units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias and emergency conditions.
• Perform or assist with central line, arterial line, and chest tube insertion.
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation monitoring.
• Participate in intubations, code blue, code stroke, STEMI, trauma, and post-cardiac-arrest hypothermia care.
• Care for pediatric patients, sexual assault patients, and patients requiring mental health evaluation or placement.
• Float between Memorial Belleville, Memorial East (Shiloh), and inpatient units as needed, within competencies.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required.
• CPI and TNCC preferred.
• Triage experience required.
• Experience with required emergency procedures and skills; candidates missing required skills should be screened before submission.
• Travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted.
• Pending licenses are not accepted.
• RQI cards are not accepted in place of required certifications.
