Echocardiography Technician (Echo Tech)

Shift Matrix: Day / Mid Shift Options | Flexible Hours
- Schedule Options: 4x10-Hour Shifts (07:00 – 15:30) OR 5x8-Hour Shifts (11:00 – 19:30). Schedule options to be finalized during manager interview/offer.
On-Call Requirement: No call.
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
🚫 Absolute Minimum Qualifications & Departmental Hardstops:
- Certification Mandate: Active registry through ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) held in hand at submission.
- Experience Baseline: Minimum 2+ years of recent Echocardiography / Cardiac Sonography experience in an acute care setting.
- Mandatory Certifications: Active AHA BLS.
- Clinical Skills Mandate: Proven proficiency in 2D, 3D, Doppler, Color Flow imaging, TEE assistance, and stress echocardiograms.
- Shift Agreement: Candidate must accept final schedule configuration (4x10s or 5x8s) as assigned by department leadership.
Job Summary & Clinical Scope
A Hospital in Warwick, RI is seeking an experienced Echocardiography Technician (Echo Tech) for a 13-week assignment in ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY (Department 31602-60095). Operating within Care New England's second-largest acute care hospital, the Echo Tech will perform non-invasive diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies for inpatient and outpatient adult populations.
- Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound Studies: Perform complete adult transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) utilizing 2D, 3D, M-mode, Continuous/Pulsed Wave Doppler, and Color Flow mapping.
- Procedural Assistance: Assist cardiologists during Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE) and Dobutamine/Exercise Stress Echocardiograms, ensuring real-time diagnostic optimization and patient safety.
- Contrast & Agitated Saline Studies: Administer microbubble contrast agents (e.g., Definity, Lumason) and perform agitated saline bubble studies for wall motion evaluation and intracardiac shunt identification.
- Cardiology Collaboration: Analyze cardiac image quality, measure chamber dimensions, calculate ejection fraction/hemodynamics, and generate preliminary technical summary reports for reading cardiologists.
