Description
Title: RN L&D Clinical Supervisor
Location: Bakersfield, CA 93306
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 5x8 — 40 hrs/week
Requirements:
- 5 years of recent supervisor experience in an acute-care facility.
- 2+ years of experience in a trauma hospital.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing + unrestricted California RN license OR ADN + California RN license + national certification in an area of expertise.
- AHA Healthcare Provider BLS.
- RQI Provider certification and competency required.
Description:
- Coordinate, supervise, and direct daily clinical and operational activities within the L&D unit.
- Manage staffing levels and staff placement according to patient acuity and unit needs.
- Supervise, train, evaluate, coach, and mentor nursing staff.
- Coordinate staff orientation and ongoing education.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, governmental, and hospital standards.
- Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, and risk management programs.
- Maintain effective relationships with physicians, healthcare teams, patients, and families.
- Serve as a liaison between the unit and hospital departments.
- Provide direct patient care when required and provide Nursing Shift Manager coverage as needed.
