  • 5 x 8's
  • Must be available on holidays and weekends
• Float Requirement: Registry personnel (travelers) may be required to float and/or be assigned to work between locations
• Patient ratios (if known): Within Guidelines of CA law
• Is RTO Accepted: What is the Max: None Preferred
  • Candidates without RTO will be prioritized
  • RTO requests will be at the discretion of the Nurse Manager and priority will be based on needs of service
• On Call Requirement? NO
• Certs: AHA BLS, MAB or CPI, LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City), and completion of the LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to the assignment start date.
• Live Scans: Must Be Completed Onsite
• License: Active CA RN License

Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Correctional Registered Nurse in-patient experience, preferably with a background in working with adult inmate patients who are incarcerated.
• Travel experience is preferred, however is not required
• GQR proven performer highly preferred
• Will accept local travelers
• COVID Vaccine Requirement: Covid vaccination + booster if eligible is a must

Responsibilities: 

• Provide nursing care to adult incarcerated patients with opioid and other substance use disorders.
• Perform nursing assessments, intake screenings, withdrawal evaluations, and ongoing monitoring.
• Administer and document FDA-approved MAT medications and monitor for effectiveness, adverse reactions, compliance, and withdrawal/intoxication.
• Educate patients on substance use, medication adherence, overdose prevention, harm reduction, relapse prevention, and continuity of care.
• Work in a locked correctional/forensic environment with frequent interaction with law enforcement.
• Provide care at Century Regional Detention Facility, Twin Towers Correctional Facility, and Men’s Central Jail.
