Shift Matrix: Evening Shift | Dedicated Schedule (Mon–Fri)
- Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday: 14:30 – 23:00 and Friday: 11:00 – 19:30 (40 Hours Per Week).
- On-Call Requirement: No call.
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
🚫 Absolute Minimum Qualifications & Departmental Hardstops:
- Licensure Mandate: Active, unencumbered New York State (NYS) Radiologic Technologist License held in hand at submission.
- Contrast Injection Certification: NYS License for IV Contrast Injection is strictly required.
- Registry Certification: Active ARRT (MR) certification held in hand at submission.
- Experience Baseline: Minimum 2+ years of recent MRI Technologist experience in an acute care setting.
- Mandatory Certifications: Active AHA BLS.
- Shift Commitment: Candidate must agree to the set schedule (Mon–Thu 14:30–23:00, Fri 11:00–19:30).
Job Summary & Clinical Scope
A Medical Center in Elmira, NY is seeking an experienced, autonomous MRI Technologist (MRI Tech) for a 13-week evening contract in MRI (Department 7330). Operating within a regional non-profit hospital serving the Southern Tier of New York, the MRI Tech will execute high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency populations.
- Diagnostic MRI Scans & Protocols: Perform specialized diagnostic MRI procedures across neurological, musculoskeletal, abdominal, pelvic, and vascular protocols in accordance with ACR standards.
- IV Contrast Administration: Execute IV line placement, assess renal function/eGFR, and administer IV gadolinium-based contrast agents per NYS IV injection certification standards.
- MR Safety & Screening Protocols: Enforce rigid Level I and Level II MR Safety protocols, perform pre-scan patient screenings for metallic implants, pacemakers, or foreign objects, and ensure safe Zone IV access control.
- PACS & Technical Documentation: Optimize sequence parameters, archive images to PACS, complete technical documentation, and collaborate directly with reading radiologists for urgent or preliminary findings.
