Facility: Acute Care Hospital – Level I Trauma / Magnet / Teaching
Unit: IMC / Stepdown / PCU – 38 beds
Shift: 3×12s/4*12s 
Hours: 36/48 hrs/week
Weekend: Every other weekend
On-Call: No
Float: Yes, within scope
Patient Ratio: 1:4
First-Time Travelers: No
Local Candidates: Accepted – no radius
IL License: Active Illinois RN license required; pending license not accepted
 

Requirements

• Minimum 2 year RN experience
• Travel experience required
• BLS + NIHSS required
• ACLS preferred
• Previous IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience
• Trauma Level I experience preferred

Key Skills

• Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
• IVs, PICC/central lines, ports and arterial lines
• Blood products and phlebotomy
• BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC and ventilated patients
• Tracheostomy care with ventilators required
• Chest tubes
• Cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Heparin protocols
• Rapid response/code situations
• Pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery
• Neuro stepdown, CVA, TBI and neurosurgical patients
