Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technologist / Radiologic Technologist for a travel contract in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will have recent OR experience, Level I Trauma Center experience, and hands-on experience with C-Arm/O-Arm technology.

X-Ray Technologist Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and physician orders before performing radiographic procedures.
• Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures according to physician orders while maintaining patient safety and minimizing radiation exposure.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions regarding the examination.
• Properly position patients, including assisting with lifting and transferring patients with limited mobility.
• Operate radiologic equipment safely and effectively while maintaining radiation safety standards.
• Assess patient condition and provide age-appropriate care throughout the imaging process.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly to management.
• Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient identity, exam type, and provider instructions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure images are correctly identified and transmitted to PACS.
• Follow established patient identification and safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT Certification required.
• New York State Radiologic Technology License or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience.
• Level I Trauma Center experience required.
• Recent OR experience required.
• Recent experience using C-Arm/O-Arm within the past 8 months required.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to lift, move, and position patients safely.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Patient-focused and compassionate approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Must be able to report within 30 minutes for an on-call shift when required.
