Description
Progressive Care / Telemetry Registered Nurse (PCU / Tele RN) – Day Shift
- Schedule: Day Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 07:00 – 19:00 (Clock in 06:53 / Clock out 07:23) | 36 Hours Per Week
- Weekend Protocol: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule block.
- Holiday Expectations: Must work 1 Major Holiday AND 1 Minor Holiday as needed by department holiday teams.
- On-Call Protocol: No on-call required. Overtime opportunities available based on operational need.
- Floating Protocol [HARDSTOP]: Must be willing to float across all PCU, Telemetry, Observation, Overflow, Medical, and Surgical units within the hospital system (may float to a different unit every shift). Rare floating to ICU (for lower-acuity holds) or ED (for boarders) within nursing scope [HARDSTOP].
- Cancellation Policy: Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment (or 2 shifts for assignments under 12 weeks).
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs.
- Assignment Duration: 13-Week Contract Assignment (576 Total Hours) | 1 Open Position | Work Site: Alexandria, Virginia (VA)
Submission Hardstops [STRICT & NON-NEGOTIABLE]
- Experience Baseline & Travel History [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 1–2+ years of dedicated PCU / Telemetry RN experience required [HARDSTOP]. Prior travel nursing experience strictly required [HARDSTOP].
- Clinical Competencies & Drip Management [HARDSTOP]:
- Demonstrated proficiency in neuro assessments and titration/management of continuous cardiac drips (specifically Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin strictly required) [HARDSTOP].
- Must possess advanced rhythm interpretation skills and pass the facility ECG exam [HARDSTOP].
- EMR Requirement [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical proficiency with Epic EMR strictly required [HARDSTOP].
- State Licensure [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION]: Active Virginia State RN License or active multi-state eNLC Compact RN License [HARDSTOP].
- Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - ALL 3 REQUIRED]:
- Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support — Healthcare Provider) certification [HARDSTOP].
- Active AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification [HARDSTOP].
- Active NIHSS (Stroke Scale Certification) [HARDSTOP].
