Description

RN – ACU/PCU/CCU Breakdown

Position

  • Role: RN – Acute Care / Progressive Care / Cardiac Care
  • Facility: 226-bed nonprofit community hospital
  • Unit: ACU/PCU
    • 20 ACU beds
    • 11 CCU beds
  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Shift time: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Day shift option also listed: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • Guaranteed: 36 hours/week
  • Contract:13 weeks listed
  • Option: 48 GWW available

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • First-time travelers NOT accepted
  • Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
  • Simplifi clinical interview + unit final approval required.

Patient Population

Common patients include:

  • CHF
  • Respiratory distress
  • ACS
  • A-fib RVR
  • Diabetes
  • DKA
  • CVA overflow
  • Post-cardiac catheterization patients
  • Vascular patients
  • Abdominal/GI patients
  • Some surgical patients
  • Blood product administration

Patient Ratios

  • Days: 4:1
  • Nights: 4–5:1
  • If an ACU/PCU nurse floats to ICU:
    • Vascular and DKA patients
    • Maximum ratio 1:3
