POSITION OVERVIEW

• Inpatient Acute Care Pharmacist
• Jefferson Health system
• 16-week travel assignment
• One opening
• First-time travelers accepted
• Community hospital environment
• Daily census approximately 300 patients
• Neonate patient population included

SCHEDULE

• Night shift: 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Rotating 7-on / 7-off schedule
• Monday through Sunday coverage
• Every other weekend required
• Weekend nights are Friday and Saturday
• No call required
• No floating required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacist experience
• Community hospital experience required
• Acute care/inpatient pharmacy background required
• Experience with Epic order verification required
• Sterile IV compounding experience required
• Experience with BD Pyxis medication systems required
• Experience with BD Carousel operations required
• NJ Pharmacist License required at submission

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Medication order verification
• Clinical dosing recommendations
• Pharmacokinetic dosing
• Renal dosing adjustments
• Anticoagulation management
• Therapeutic drug monitoring
• Warfarin dosing
• Antibiotic dosing and management
• High-alert medication review
• Medication dispensing oversight
• Drug storage and inventory management

IV & COMPOUNDING SKILLS

• Sterile IV compounding required
• Intravenous medication preparation
• Sterile technique
• IV piggyback preparation
• IV push medication preparation
• Hazardous IV compounding may be required
• Antineoplastic agent handling preferred

SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGY

• Epic EMR
• BD Pyxis
• BD Carousel
• Unit-dose medication systems

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Active NJ Pharmacist License
• Recent inpatient hospital experience
• Comfortable working independently on nights
• Strong clinical pharmacy background
• Experienced with sterile compounding
• Familiar with hospital automation technologies
• Able to work with neonatal patient populations

FACILITY EXPECTATIONS

• Black scrubs required
• Work assigned holidays if they fall during scheduled work week
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• COVID vaccine not required

TRAVELER NOTES

• Local radius is 50 miles
• Local rate differential applies (I'm not sure what this means...will update here when I learn more)
• Requested Time Off must be submitted up front
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Interview availability should be provided with submission
• Managers review auto-offer submissions within 48 hours

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Active NJ Pharmacist License at submission
• References required
• Certification copies required
• SSN and DOB required for submission
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Fingerprinting requirements apply
• Pass/fail clinical exam required
• Maximum of three exam attempts
• Orientation: 80 hours - (8 hours unbilled)
