Description
Physical Therapist (PT) – Travel Assignment
Facility: Modoc Medical Center
Shift: Monday – Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Urgency: Normal
Position Overview
Modoc Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to direct and provide physical therapy services. The PT will evaluate and treat patients, coordinate patient care, maintain department operations, and participate in quality improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans.
- Provide physical therapy treatments and prescribed physical agents.
- Assess treatment effectiveness and recommend changes to physicians when necessary.
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to facility policy.
- Treat patients across various age groups, including:
- Neonates
- Pediatrics
- Adolescents
- Adults
- Geriatrics
- Assess pain and functional limitations affecting rehabilitation.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and rehabilitation.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians and other healthcare departments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Ensure patient charges are accurate and submitted appropriately.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and performance improvement activities.
- Assist with department budgeting and monitor department performance against budget.
- Maintain equipment, department safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Train and provide guidance to nursing, hospital, and departmental staff as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow infection-control and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Current California Physical Therapist license/certification – REQUIRED
- Current BCLS/BLS certification – REQUIRED
- Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during emergency situations.
Preferred
- 3+ years of Physical Therapy experience preferred
- Additional language skills preferred.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No specific weekend or call requirement provided.
