Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist (PT) for an Outpatient Orthopedic assignment in Ballentine, South Carolina.

The therapist will provide evaluation and treatment to outpatient orthopedic patients while managing a high-volume caseload. The position requires strong outpatient orthopedic experience and the ability to manage approximately 12–14 patients per day.

Outpatient experience is preferred, and candidates must be experienced enough to work independently, as new graduates are not accepted.

The primary patient population is:

 

Outpatient Orthopedics

The PT should be comfortable evaluating and treating orthopedic patients in an outpatient setting.

Typical outpatient orthopedic care may include patients recovering from:

  • Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Joint injuries
  • Post-operative orthopedic procedures
  • Sports-related injuries
  • Mobility limitations
  • Strength and flexibility deficits
  • Chronic orthopedic conditions
  • Functional movement limitations

Primary Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist will be responsible for:

 

Patient Evaluation

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations
  • Assess strength, range of motion, mobility and functional limitations
  • Establish appropriate treatment goals
  • Develop individualized plans of care

Treatment

  • Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Develop individualized exercise programs
  • Improve patient strength, mobility and functional abilities
  • Provide therapeutic exercise and functional training
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed

Patient Education

  • Educate patients regarding their condition and treatment plan
  • Provide home exercise programs
  • Teach proper techniques for exercises and activities
  • Encourage patient participation in recovery

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Document evaluations, treatments and patient progress
  • Update plans of care when clinically appropriate

Productivity Expectations

This is a high-volume outpatient environment.

 

Expected Caseload

  • Approximately 12–14 patients per day
  • Productivity expectation: 60 visits per week
  • Double-booking of follow-up visits is expected

Candidates should be comfortable managing a busy outpatient schedule while maintaining appropriate patient care and documentation.

Schedule & Hours

 

Guaranteed Hours

36 hours per week are guaranteed.

There is an expectation that the therapist may work up to 40 hours per week based on the clinic's needs and schedule.

Overtime

OT must be approved by the Director before any overtime hours are worked.

Candidates should not work overtime without prior approval.

Floating

No floating to other clinics.

The therapist will remain assigned to the primary outpatient clinic.

Candidates do not need previous travel assignment experience.

New Graduates

Not accepted.

The facility requires an experienced PT rather than a newly graduated therapist.

PTA

PTA candidates are not accepted.
