- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing
Description
Unit: 18-bed mixed ICU/step-down unit
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license; active temporary license accepted
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
- At least 2 years of ICU experience; 3 preferred
- At least 1 completed travel assignment; no first-time travelers
- Strong neuro assessments, dysphagia screening, and telemetry/EKG interpretation; EKG exam on day one
- Experience with ventilators, titratable drips, sepsis care, and post-ROSC therapeutic hypothermia
Schedule and patient care
- Ratios: 2 ICU patients or 3 step-down patients per RN
- Floating: Step-down care as needed
- Weekends/holidays: Every other weekend and holiday
- On-call: None
- Support: RT available; charge nurse takes patients
- Scrubs: Navy blue
