Description
Travel Cath Lab RN | MUSC | 4×10-Hour Days
Schedule: 40 hours per week, rotating between 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m.–8 p.m. Shift times are grouped for consistency rather than alternating daily. Staff stay until procedures are complete.
Unit Highlights
- Ratio: 1:1.
- Five procedure rooms; approximately 20 cases daily.
- Adult and geriatric patients.
- Peripheral and coronary diagnostic/interventional procedures.
- Equipment: Impella, balloon pump, AngioJet, and Shockwave.
- EMR: Epic.
- No floating between service lines or sister facilities.
- Hospital-issued scrubs and free parking with a parking pass.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
- Cath Lab and EP experience required.
- Community hospital experience.
- BLS and ACLS.
- Active South Carolina or compact RN license before starting.
- Skills in diagnostic/interventional catheterizations, cardiac stents, circulating, left/right heart catheterization, dysrhythmia management, procedural sedation, and Impella insertion.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Radiation badge required; provided by the agency.
Call & Scheduling
- One weekday call shift each week.
- One call weekend per month covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Call requirements may change with staffing needs.
- Block scheduling considered with manager approval.
- All requested time off must be submitted with the initial profile; later requests are not accepted.
- Facility may cancel the equivalent of one shift every two weeks, including partial-shift cancellations.
Eligibility & Compliance
- 60-mile local radius: Non-local candidates prioritized; locals considered case by case at a reduced rate.
- Former MUSC permanent or PRN staff must have one year of separation.
- Pending SC licenses may be considered at submission with application proof; appropriate active licensure is required before starting.
- Flu vaccine required, with medical/religious exemptions accepted. COVID-19 vaccine not required.
- During June–November, travelers may be assigned to hurricane emergency response teams.
Recruiter Notes
- SSN required for submission; submit to one MUSC unit/campus at a time.
- Local bill rate is reduced by 10%; confirm the candidate’s pay package.
- Clinical-pass candidates may qualify for an auto-offer with up to seven days of non-holiday RTO. Confirm exactly seven days, as the notes also flag “7+ days” for facility approval. Holiday RTO requires approval.
