Description

Job Title: Clinical Lab Technician

Location: New York, NY 10029

Duration: 3+ Months

Shift Timings: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM / 5 days per week 

Department: Pathology

 

Position Overview:

  • The ideal candidate will have at least one year of general clinical laboratory experience, a valid New York State Education Department (NYSED) Clinical Laboratory Technician certification, and a strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and patient safety.
  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other patient specimens.
  • Collect, process, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and analysis.
  • Document and report laboratory findings accurately and promptly.
  • Follow laboratory safety, infection prevention, and specimen handling protocols.
  • Minimum of one year of general clinical technician or clinical laboratory experience.
Required Qualifications: - Valid Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) certification issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). - Primary Source Verification of the NYSED certification is required. Preferred Qualifications - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. - Experience in an acute care hospital, public health system, or high-volume laboratory. - Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR).
