Shift: 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts available

Shift Times: 0630 shift start time. Will ask for staff to arrive at 0600 if their first case is a 0715 start or if it is a 0730 total joint surgery. 8 hour shifts 0630-1500; 10 hour shifts 0630-1630; 12 hour shifts 0600-1800. 

Weekend Rotation : No Weekends. 

Holiday Rotation : No worked holidays! 7 paid holidays for full and part time staff. 

On Call/Call Back Requirements : No call! We do take volunteers to come back in after-hours if the need were to arise for a take back to the OR. 

Call-Off Policy : We call off due to low surgery volume, if needed. We typically notify the staff member the afternoon prior. 

Floating requirements : Possible float to SPD to assist with putting away instruments. Once oriented, may have the opportunity to train in other departments. 

Certifications Required : BLS and ACLS required (AHA or ARC). 

Education/license : ADN or BSN, active and unencumbered RN license in the state of KS. 

Minimum experience : Orthopedic experience (mainly Zimmer, Arthrex) required! Heavy Total joint replacement and sports med surgeries. Must be able to do all specialties (Ortho, ENT, GYN, Spine, Urology, cataracts, General surgery). 

Charting System : Meditech Expanse (preferred but not required). Typical Staffing : We staff a RN and a Surg Tech in each OR suite. When needed we have a second Surg Tech for cases that require one. We attempt to have 1-2 float staff available for breaks and lunches. Staff are expected to pull their cases, terminally clean and set up for cases. We do NOT have turnover crew or EVS in that area. 

Unit Overview : 6 suite OR. Monday through Friday. Fast paced, team oriented. Flexible. Heavy orthopedic case facility. 

Scrub Color: Hospital laundered scrubs provided by Facility. 

Jewelry and Body Adornment Policy: Nails shall be kept short, and no artificial nails shall be worn; No hand or arm jewelry shall be worn. 

Vaccination Requirements : Please reach out to Caela for a list of required immunizations. Manhattan Surgical Hospital follows the CDC's recommended vaccines for Healthcare workers, they do allow exemptions for the Influenza and COVID vaccine.

About the facility : MSH averages about 20 surgeries per day. Mix of specialties but heavy orthopedics (total joint replacements and sports med). We run fast paced and we pride ourself on efficiency. We are physician owned and are licensed as a hospital in the state of Kansas. We are small and lean so we expect our staff to be proficient at all specialties and help in both the OR and SPD if needed. We do a mix of adult and pediatric cases. We do not have a cafeteria at the Facility. Door Dash is heavily used for lunch delivery by staff. There is a vending machine on site.

No Relocation or Sign on Bonus. Hourly rate varies on experience
