Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Clinical Education Manager to lead and coordinate clinical education programs for nursing and clinical staff across a healthcare consortium in Alaska.
The Clinical Education Manager will design, develop, teach, coordinate, and evaluate clinical education programs while ensuring staff maintain required competencies, certifications, and regulatory compliance. This role also provides leadership for clinical specialty education, simulation training, professional development, and trauma education programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and evaluate clinical education programs for professional and non-professional staff.
- Maintain clinical education programs to meet regulatory requirements, certifications, and competency standards.
- Design and facilitate educational programs using evidence-based practices and adult-learning principles.
- Coordinate clinical specialty training, including human patient simulation programs.
- Provide education and development opportunities for nursing staff and other clinical personnel.
- Coordinate and maintain certification programs including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC.
- Partner with department and site managers to identify clinical education needs and develop competency programs.
- Lead the clinical education team in developing and implementing educational programs.
- Conduct audits related to clinical education and develop action plans for identified opportunities.
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of educational activities and make improvements as needed.
- Support professional development and evidence-based nursing practice.
- Oversee the trauma registrar program across designated facilities.
- Work with trauma registrars and trauma coordinators to maintain trauma registries and meet state requirements.
- Support outlying clinics with trauma designation and recertification activities.
- Coordinate trauma education, policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Supervise the IHS Emergency Pediatric Hybrid Program and support simulation training.
- Coordinate instructors and schedules for BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and other programs.
- Attend and participate in Nurse Executive Committee meetings and support nursing service goals.
- Maintain required licenses, certifications, competencies, and annual education.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Clinical Educators and nursing staff.
Required Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Active, unrestricted Alaska RN License – REQUIRED AT SUBMITTAL.
- ACLS certification – Required.
- BLS certification – Required.
- PALS certification – Required.
- TNCC Instructor certification – Preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Experience
- 3 years of professional Clinical Instructor experience.
- 5 years of professional nursing experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Staff RN experience in a specialty, such as:
- Emergency Room / ED
- ICU
- OB
- OR
- 2 years of supervisory experience required.
Preferred Experience
- Emergency Room / Trauma experience.
- Remote rural healthcare experience.
- Experience with trauma education and registry programs.
- Experience developing and facilitating clinical education programs.
