🔥 40-HOUR DAY-SHIFT ENDOSCOPY / GI LAB RN CONTRACT – NORTHERN VIRGINIA (DC METRO AREA)
An immediate travel contract opening is available for an experienced Endoscopy / Gastroenterology Laboratory Registered Nurse (RN) in Leesburg, Virginia (Loudoun County / Northern Virginia). Operating within an advanced endoscopy procedural suite that handles a high-volume mix of outpatient cases (75%) and inpatient procedures (25%), this position features a structured 4x10 daytime schedule (07:00 AM – 17:30 PM / 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, varying weekdays, 40 guaranteed weekly hours). NO FLOATING OUTSIDE ENDO! Departmental volume averages approximately 25 procedural cases per day across routine and acute diagnostic/therapeutic GI interventions. If you are an acute endoscopy nurse skilled in pre-op admission, intra-procedural moderate sedation, physician procedural assistance, advanced airway monitoring, and Phase I/II recovery looking to earn $2,367/week with maximum allowable tax-free stipends in Northern Virginia, this contract is built for you!

- Weekly Gross: $2,367.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,407.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $24.00/hr (40 regular hours)
- Overtime Rate: $36.00/hr
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Day shifts, 4x10-Hours (07:00 AM – 17:30 PM / 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 4 days per week).
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
- On-Call & Weekend Requirements:
- Weekends and holidays are covered via on-call rotation (1–2 call shifts per week).
- Self-scheduled call: Weekend call is 10 hours on Saturday and Sunday; Monday–Friday call is only 2 hours post-shift.
- Floating Scope: NO FLOATING! Strictly dedicated to Endoscopy / GI Lab.
- Department Setting & Daily Volume: High-volume procedural suite managing ~25 cases per day (75% outpatient procedures / 25% inpatient acute cases).
- Clinical Scope & Procedures:
- Diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopies (EGD, Colonoscopy, Polypectomies, PEG tube placements, Variceal Banding, GI bleed interventions).
- Pre-procedure patient preparation, rapid peripheral IV cannulation, and baseline assessments.
- Moderate conscious sedation administration and continuous cardiopulmonary/capnography monitoring.
- Assisting gastroenterologists with procedural biopsy sampling, hemoclips, snares, and specimen handling.
- Post-anesthesia recovery care, discharge criteria evaluation, and patient/family education.
- EMR Systems, Orientation & Uniform: Epic, EndoWorks (transitioning to ProVation); 1 week of structured floor orientation; Scrub dress code: Solid Navy Blue pants with Solid Navy Blue or Solid White tops (solid navy or solid white warm-up jackets).
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated acute hospital Endoscopy / GI Lab or ambulatory GI procedural clinical nursing experience. Strong, proven peripheral IV insertion skills are mandatory.
- Licensure: Active Virginia RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal.
- Certifications Required (Documents in hand):
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) — must be AHA, no exceptions.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
