Description

Position Details & Facility Highlights:

- Facility: Busy / Large Level 1 Trauma
- Unit Size: 18 Beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:2, occasionally 1:1
- EHR: EPIC required
- Scheduling: Flexible scheduling required (travelers fill open holes; no self-scheduling); Every Other Weekend (EOW) required; no call/standby requirements
- Orientation: Two 12-hour shifts
- Floating: RNs must be open to floating (first to float to similar units)
- Scrub Code: Teal tops and bottoms

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 3+ years of experience in a very busy hospital setting
- Previous travel experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS

Clinical Unit Details:

- Common Diagnoses: Heart failure, STEMI, pulmonary emboli, arrhythmias, MICU overflow
- Must-Have Skills & Experience: Ventilators, managing pressors, hemodynamics (PAC, CVP, arterial lines), sheaths, IABP, Impella, CRRT, occasional paralysis and sedation (BIS & TOF)
- Titratable Drips: Yes (Epinephrine, norepinephrine, vasopressin, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, cardene; occasionally Giapresa)
- Support Staff & Coverage: Charge nurse on each shift; minimal PCA support (1 for 18 beds when available); 24/7 RT in ICU; 24/7 CCU fellow available; RNs interpret their own strips (HP monitors)

Parking & Logistics:

- Daily Parking: $15+/day
- Monthly Pass Options: On/off-campus garages and lots ranging from $95–$120/month
