Description

Job Breakdown – Histotechnologist

Position: Histotechnologist
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts
Contract: 13 weeks

Main Requirement

Must be a certified Histotechnologist with ASCP or have an equivalent certification.
This is a histology/anatomic pathology position.

Main Duties

Receive, identify, and process tissue specimens.
Assign accession numbers and verify patient information.
Assist with gross examination and tissue cassette preparation.
Operate tissue processors.
Embed tissue blocks and cut sections.
Perform routine and special histochemical stains.
Prepare frozen sections.
Prepare slides/material for outside consultation.
Maintain and retrieve stored tissue slides and blocks.
Ensure accurate and timely slide preparation for pathologists.
