Description
Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist f
- Shift: Evening, Monday–Friday, generally 4:00 PM–12:00 AM
- Weekend: Approximately 1 weekend every 4 weeks, with shifts around 2–10 PM or 3–11 PM
- Experience: At least 2 years of hospital laboratory experience
- Specialty: Strong, primarily Microbiology experience; must be comfortable reading complex cultures with minimal training
- Certification: ASCP MT or MLS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science
- Skills specifically requested:
- Culture plating and reading
- Aerobic/anaerobic cultures
- Gram stains
- Organism identification
- Sensitivities
- PCR/molecular testing
- Rapid testing
- Accessioning/specimen processing
- Complex culture interpretation
- Travelers: Must be willing to float as needed
- Local restriction: Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Vaccines: COVID vaccine not required; flu vaccine required, with medical/religious exemptions
