Description

A BIT MORE SHORT

Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Provides rapid care to patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and triage patients, set care priorities, and monitor for deterioration.
  • Give medications, IV fluids, and blood products; start IVs and draw labs.
  • Assist with CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care.
  • Operate monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators.
  • Care for medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma patients.
  • Collaborate with the care team and educate patients and families.
  • Document in the EHR and follow safety and infection-control standards.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license
  • BLS and ACLS (PALS and TNCC may be required or preferred)
  • ED, critical care, or acute-care experience preferred

Clinical judgment, quick decisions, communication, teamwork, and composure under pressure.
