GGH OR Tech (Surgical Scrub Tech) — Job Description

Position: OR Technician / Surgical Scrub Technician
Location: Geneva, NY
Pay: $45–$48/hour
Shift: Days
Contract: 13 weeks, with high chances of extension

Job Summary:
The Surgical Scrub Technician is responsible for providing direct support to the surgical team before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR Tech prepares the operating room, maintains a sterile environment, ensures surgical instruments and supplies are available, and assists the surgeon and nursing team throughout procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and set up the operating room for scheduled surgical procedures.
Assemble, inspect, and arrange sterile surgical instruments and supplies.
Maintain strict sterile technique and infection-control standards.
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team.
Assist with surgical specimen handling according to facility protocols.
Help prepare and position patients as directed by the surgical team.
Maintain and organize surgical equipment and supplies.
Assist with room turnover and preparation for the next procedure.
Follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection-prevention standards.
Maintain accurate documentation related to surgical procedures as required.

Qualifications: Previous experience as an OR/Surgical Scrub Technician. Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterile technique. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating-room environment. BLS certification and required surgical technology credentials, as applicable. Ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.
