🩺 Your Role

As a Surgical Tech, you will work under the supervision of an RN and alongside surgeons and other surgical professionals to support safe and effective operative procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare the OR, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical cases.
• Ensure surgical items and the operating room meet sterilization and safety requirements.
• Assist surgeons during procedures within the Surgical Tech/ORT scope of practice.
• Apply appropriate sterile processing and sterilization practices.
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety concerns.
• Identify emergency situations and respond appropriately according to established procedures.
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent procedures.
• Support surgical services and system-wide safety and operational initiatives.
• May assist with sterile processing activities as needed.

✅ Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT)/Surgical Tech program, OR
• Graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past 6 months, OR
• At least 2 years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last 3 years.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Demonstrated experience with:
  • Surgical services
  • Sterile field management
  • Sterile processing
  • Sterilization procedures and requirements
  • Operating room safety
  • Emergency situations
  • Surgical team support

⭐ Preferred

• Active national certification as an Operating Room Technician (ORT), or
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
