Description
Cath Lab Tech – Rapid City, SD
Shift: 10-Hour Variable (day/night blocks; some weeks may flex to 3x12 nights)
Unit Overview
- 2 Cath Labs + 2 Hybrid Peripheral/OR suites
- RN ratio: 1:1
- Experience required: 2 years minimum — coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases (no first-year travelers; first-time travelers OK if highly experienced)
- Travelers must live 100+ miles from the facility
- Permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler
Patient Population
CAD, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, complex total occlusions, diagnostic cath procedures, valvular disease, renal disease, carotid stenosis, limb salvage, peripheral stenosis, thrombosis disease, Impella and LVAD insertions, and more
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS (ARRT or CCI-RCIS accepted)
- Education: AA/AAS degree
- Skills: table panning, arrhythmia recognition/treatment, critical patient assessment
- No floating — Cath Lab and IR are separate departments
Charting System: Epic (required), Epic Cupid (preferred), Alaris, Omnicell
Schedule Details
- Variable shift blocks (nights: 1800–0600, team arrives 1800–2200; sent home if no cases, paid regardless)
- Days: D10 or D12 starting at 0600
- Weekend rotation: Q4
- On call: 1–2 days/week (1630–0600) + every 4th weekend (Fri 1630–Mon 0600)
- Holiday expectations: possibly 1 per assignment; PTO requests go through the Manager
- Scrubs: procedural, provided
- Free parking
- Guaranteed hours: 40
