Description
Cath Lab RN – Bryan, TX
Shift: 8-Hour Days, Mon–Fri, 0630–1500, plus call
Facility: Bryan campus (home base) – 2801 Franciscan Drive, Bryan, TX 77802; will float to the College Station campus – 1604 Rock Prairie Rd, College Station, TX 77845
Charting: MEDITECH | Trauma Level: 3 | Care Setting: Acute
Unit Overview
- 4 cath labs, typically 3 rooms running at once
- Volume: 5–7 cases minimum per day, up to 15 on a busy day
- Case types: Cardiac, peripheral, neuro, and traumatic embolization, plus EP (ICDs, pacemakers, ablations for A-flutter, SVT, A-fib). No specials/IR; a separate area handles those.
- Staffing per case (days): circulating RN, scrub tech, and a monitor person. RCIS and RT techs scrub the cases.
- RNs circulate and monitor. All staff are cross-trained to monitor on the GE MacLab/Combo Lab hemodynamic monitoring system.
- Call: about 10–11 days per month, including 1 weekend
- Orientation: 3 days on the unit. Expected to be independently doing cases by Thursday or Friday, with one day of call late that first week alongside an experienced nurse. Call is usually not scheduled for the first weekend but is expected by the second.
- Cancellation policy: Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (3 shifts if the assignment is under 13 weeks)
- Guaranteed hours: 40/week | Contract weeks: 91
Requirements
- Must be able to circulate cases independently
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- BSN required: No
