Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department

• Minimum Experience: 1 year of ED, 2 or more preferred
• Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, dependent on experience

Patient Ratios: 

• RN: No Ratios
  • Night: 3 nurses at night for 9 beds
• Required Certifications:
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• PALS
• TNCC (preferred)
• CPI/MOAB (preferred)
• Skills required:
  • Experience, RSI, IV, Cardiac monitoring and assessments skills
• Support on the Unit:
  • Charge nurse
  • RT during the day until 1700; after hour options available
  • Remote monitoring at nurses stations for Tele/SpO2
• Technology/Equipment:
  • EMR: Cerner Community Works
  • IV pumps: Alaris
  • Medication dispensing: Pyxis
  • Stryker Beds
• Floating: If yes, where?
  • Not typically, unless agreement prior to
  • Would float to Intermediate Care Unit
• Orientation:
  • 2 days

• Scheduling:
  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • On call requirement: No
  • Holiday Expectations: depending on coverage rotation like regular staff
  • RTO approval: Must be sent to Manager for approval
