Required clinical qualifications

• At least 12 months of permanent Med/Surg/Tele RN experience
  • The submittal requirements clarify that you need 1 year of combined permanent experience in the specialty you're applying for.
  • Preferably this experience is at one facility, but it does not have to be.
• RN license
  • You must have a permanent Ohio RN license OR a compact/multistate RN license in hand at the time of submission.
  • A license that is pending will not qualify.
• AHA BLS — must be active and in hand.
• AHA ACLS — must be active and in hand.
• NIHSS
  • You must be willing to obtain NIHSS before starting.
  • The posting lists NIHSS among the required certifications.

Required clinical skills

The posting specifically identifies:

• ECG/dysrhythmia interpretation
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Ability to successfully complete an ECG rhythm recognition test
• Ability to successfully complete the SafeMedicate assessment

The ECG and SafeMedicate assessments occur during orientation. You get a maximum of 2 attempts. Failure to achieve an acceptable score can result in cancellation.
