RN – Med Surg/Tele | Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 10/26/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Hours: 36 hours/week
Shift Length: 12 hours
Unit: Med Surg/Telemetry
EMR: Cerner

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of RN experience
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms
Med Surg and Telemetry experience
Recent Cerner experience preferred

Unit Details:

39-bed mixed Med Surg/Telemetry unit
Telemetry ratio approximately 1:4
Med Surg ratio approximately 1:5
Mixed assignments may include both Med Surg and Tele patients
Fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and discharges
Common patients include medical/surgical, bariatric, total joint, stroke and non-titratable drip patients
Experience with Cardizem, Amiodarone and Heparin drips preferred

Additional Details:

Every other weekend / 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
Holiday rotation required
Travelers are first to float
May float between Med Surg/Telemetry units and other areas for Med Surg/Tele holds
No block scheduling guarantee
Navy blue scrubs
Orientation typically 1–2 shifts, up to 3 depending on experience
Cerner experience may reduce orientation time
Strict attendance expectations
