PACU RN needed to provide pre-op and Phase I/II post-anesthesia care. 2+ years ICU/ER critical-care experience may substitute for PACU experience. AHA BLS & ACLS required; PALS preferred. 8/10/12-hour shifts with possible weekends/holidays and 0–3 on-call shifts per month.
Care for patients pre-op and post-op in Phase I & Phase II recovery

• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia
• Assess vital signs, airway, pain, incision sites, temperature, and overall stability
• Recognize and respond quickly to post-anesthesia complications
• Manage IVs, PCA pumps, SCDs, monitors, and other PACU equipment
• Provide pain management and recovery care
• Document patient condition and recovery progress

Requirements

• 2+ years of critical-care RN experience such as ICU or ER may be accepted instead of PACU experience
• Hospital-based experience
• Active state RN license
• AHA BLS & ACLS required
• PALS recommended/may be required
• NIHSS/TNCC and other specialty certifications may be preferred depending on the position

Schedule

• 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts
• Days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• No guaranteed hours or preferred shift
• On-call: 0–3 times/month
  • 8-hour overnight call
  • 24-hour weekend/holiday call
