Description
NICU RN position for an experienced neonatal nurse. The RN will care for premature and medically fragile newborns, provide respiratory support, monitor their stability, and help stabilize babies who may need transfer to a higher-level NICU.
What the RN will do
- Care for NICU II / Level II special-care newborns
- Monitor cardiopulmonary, neurological, metabolic, and temperature stability
- Manage premature infants with apnea and bradycardia
- Provide High-Flow O₂, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and mechanical ventilation
- Manage central lines and peripheral IVs
- Perform lab draws and administer IV antibiotics
- Assist with neonatal procedures and resuscitation
- Stabilize newborns under 32 weeks and prepare them for transport to a Level III facility
- Manage thermoregulation, including passive cooling when appropriate
- Float to Postpartum and Labor & Delivery for neonatal care
Required Experience & Certifications
- 2+ years of experience
- NICU II / Level II experience required
- CPAP experience required
- At least 1 completed travel assignment
- Proven history of successfully completing multiple assignments with no cancellations
- BLS, NRP & STABLE required
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- 80% overall minimum
- 100% on lethal rhythms
Schedule
- 3×12 Days: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Must be willing to float to Postpartum/L&D
