Description
Required qualifications
- RN license: Current RN license; license is required to submit.
- CVOR experience: Must have Open Heart and/or Endovascular experience.
- Scrubbing experience: Required. The RN must be able to scrub into cases, including helping hold the heart and close the chest during cardiac surgery.
- BLS: AHA BLS required.
- ACLS: Listed as required in the unit notes, although the formal job section only specifically lists BLS. I would treat AHA ACLS as required when screening.
- BSN: Not required — ADN RNs can be considered.
- Epic: The unit uses Epic; prior Epic experience would be beneficial but isn't explicitly listed as a submission requirement.

Relevant case experience
The CVOR handles approximately 30 cases/day, including about 1–2 heart cases/day. Relevant experience includes:
- Open-heart surgery
- Endovascular procedures
- TAVR
- Thoracic surgery
- Other major cardiovascular procedures
Scheduling requirements
- Shift: Approximately 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekday call: 1 weekday per week
- Weekend call: 1 weekend per month, consisting of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, rotating with staff
- Holiday call: Not required, but preferred if available
- Call response: 30 minutes
- Call room: Available on site
- Float: May float to the General OR when there are no CVOR cases. In an extreme need, may float within Zone 1 facilities.
- Orientation: 1 week
- Radius: 60-mile rule; driver's license must be submitted.
- Must be in-state during orientation week, even if the first day of orientation/modules is remote.
