Start Date: 11/30 – 12/31
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Holiday Schedule: Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
Job Description
The Mammography Technologist will work in an outpatient facility performing high-quality diagnostic and screening mammographic studies while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality imaging. This role requires strong knowledge of breast anatomy and positioning techniques, as well as the ability to adapt positioning based on each patient's condition.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and screening mammography procedures using appropriate positioning and imaging techniques.
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the exam.
- Review prior imaging to improve tissue visualization and maintain consistency with previous studies.
- Operate and adjust mammography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Maintain compliance with FDA/MQSA regulations and established imaging standards.
- Assist with mammography, ultrasound, and MR-guided breast localizations and biopsies.
- Perform screening breast ultrasound procedures as needed by the facility.
- Safely maneuver equipment and modify positioning techniques when patients cannot tolerate routine positioning.
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of relevant mammography experience preferred.
- Active ARRT(R) registration required.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt positioning techniques and work effectively with patients with varying mobility and physical limitations.
