Description
Sterile Processing Technician
Shift: 8-hour evenings
Shift time: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Department: Central Sterile / Sterile Processing
ORs: 16
First-time travelers: No
Experience: Minimum 2 years; acute-care experience preferred, ambulatory experience may be considered
Education: High school diploma
CRCST: Preferred
Required Skills
You should be proficient in:
- Decontamination
- Low-temperature sterilization
- Steam sterilization
- Instrument assembly
Equipment / Technology
- EMR: CensiTrac
- Sterilizer: STERIS Evolution
- V-PRO: 3
- Sonics: 2
- Cart washers: 2
- Instrument washers: 3
- Autoclaves: 4, including 1 small unit
Orientation
- Approximately 2 weeks of orientation
- Orientation is on the day shift
- After orientation, you move to your contracted 2:30 PM–11:00 PM shift
Scheduling
- 40 hours/week
- Schedule cycle: Every 4 weeks
- Schedule is typically released about 1 month in advance
- Weekend rotation: Yes, usually every 3rd weekend, though this can vary with PTO
- On-call: None
- Holidays: Possible, but there is currently no fixed holiday requirement
- RTO: Requires manager approval
