Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care services at Summa Health's Akron Campus. The therapist will assess patients, administer respiratory treatments, operate respiratory equipment, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and confirm physician orders for respiratory treatments.
Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures according to hospital policies and protocols.
Monitor and document patient response and tolerance to treatment.
Administer medical gases and respiratory medications.
Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in CPR.
Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments.
Maintain accurate patient records and complete required documentation.
Participate in patient care teams and quality improvement programs.
Maintain competency in current respiratory care techniques, equipment, and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an AMA or CoARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
Valid Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license.
Current RRT or CRT credential.
Current BLS certification.
Minimum 2 years of relevant Respiratory Therapy experience.
Strong communication, patient-care, and teamwork skills.
