Travel RN – Endoscopy

Position: RN – Endoscopy
Shift: 8 Hour Variable
Contract: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hrs/week

Unit Details

• 4 Endoscopy rooms
• 20 Pre-Op bays
• 14 PACU bays
• Endoscopy RN/Tech team: 6
• EPIC
• Equipment: EPICION robotic-assisted bronchoscopy, Omnicell, Alaris
• Anesthesia provides sedation 100%

Patient/Procedure Types

• Upper & lower endoscopy
• EUS
• EBUS
• ERCP
• PEG
• EGD
• Colonoscopy
• Advanced/interventional GI procedures
• Pre- and post-recovery, Phase I & Phase II
• Some ICU-level patient care

Ratios

• Endoscopy: 1:1
• Pre-Op: 1:2
• PACU Phase I: 1:1 or 1:2, based on acuity
• PACU Phase II: 1:2–3

RN Requirements

• 2 years RN experience
• Level I or Level II trauma experience
• Endoscopy experience, including:
  • Advanced EUS
  • EBUS
  • ERCP
• BLS + ACLS
• Must be a graduate of an approved nursing education program
• South Dakota RN license required
• First-time travelers: No, unless specifically approved
• Must live >100 miles from the facility

Schedule

• 8-hour variable shifts:
  • 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
  • 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
  • 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
• One weekday overnight call per week: 7 PM–7 AM
• Every 3rd weekend on call
• 15-minute response time
• Sleep room available in closed Pre-Op/PACU area
• 2 of 4 major holidays
• 1-week orientation

Floating

• May float to Pre-Op, PACU, or Floor as needed.
• If outside peri-op services, traveler works as helping hands.
• Will not float to Main OR as Primary RN.
